More than 120 people have fallen ill in Russia’s Siberian republic of Buryatia following a mass food poisoning outbreak linked to ready-made meals sold in a regional supermarket chain, local health officials told media.

The world is smoking less, but the tobacco epidemic is far from over. A new WHO global report shows the number of tobacco users has dropped from 1.38 billion in 2000 to 1.2 billion in 2024. Since 2010, the number of people using tobacco has dropped by 120 million – a 27% drop in relative terms. Yet, tobacco still hooks one in five adults worldwide, fuelling millions of preventable deaths every year.
The Indonesian government has suspended 112 nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPGs), or kitchens for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, for failing to meet safety standards set by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
Badan Gizi Nasional (BGN) mengungkap, sebanyak 6.457 orang terdampak keracunan menu Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) per 30 September 2025. BGN membagi 6.457 korban keracunan MBG itu ke dalam tiga wilayah, yakni Wilayah I yang mencakup Pulau Sumatera, Wilayah II di Pulau Jawa, dan Wilayah III mencakup wilayah Indonesia timur.
