The novel coronavirus pandemic has spawned four intertwined health care crises that reveal and compound deep underlying problems in the health care system of the United States. In so doing, however, the pandemic points the way toward reforms that could improve our ability not only to cope with likely future epidemics but also to serve the basic health care needs of Americans.

As a person’s first entry point into the health system, Primary Health Care (PHC) not only provides a platform for ensuring access to essential and routine healthcare but is also a critical foundation for the direct surveillance, response and management of outbreaks.

Pandemi COVID-19 membuat berbagai negara perlu menerapkan agenda reformasi kesehatan. Tak terkecuali bagi Indonesia. Namun hal itu tidak bisa berjalan tanpa adanya kolaborasi sejumlah pihak, evaluasi, monitoring terhadap tata kelola dan pendanaan, serta pembenahan dalam pelayanan dasar kesehatan.

Pemerintah Kota Tangerang Selatan dan Kabupaten Tangerang, Selasa (5/1/2021), menyatakan tidak akan menegasikan pelaksanaan surveilans dan disiplin protokol kesehatan kendati proses vaksinasi akan dimulai awal Januari. Vaksinasi tidak bisa berdiri sendiri untuk melawan Covid-19, pelaksanaan surveilans dan disiplin protokol kesehatan tetap perlu dilakukan secara gencar.
